Silver Screen Family (‘SSF’) takes your privacy very seriously.  In accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’), we have prepared this privacy policy, which explains what to expect when SSF collects personal information about you and how we will use your personal data.

We’re know this policy sounds rather formal or ‘legal’ – if you’re not clear about anything, we’re happy to explain it to you further.

SSF is a trading name of Nettingworth Limited (company number 07794595).  It is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a Data Controller for the personal data that it holds and processes in order to provide its services (Registration Number Z3032417).

SSF provides services making personal documentaries about the lives of family and friends.  In the course of providing those services, SSF will obtain personal information about you (and the ‘Star’ of the documentary, if not you) and friends and family.  That includes personal information being filmed.

1. The information we collect about you

When you contact us, inquire about or engage our services, we may collect the following personal information from you:

a.     your name;

b.     your postal address, email address and telephone number;

c.     payment information (such as bank or credit card details), if you wish to engage us;

d.     other personal information about you and your family (including education, profession, hobbies, marital status, children etc) for use in creating your personalised documentary.

2. How we will use the information about you

We gather this information to allow us to offer and provide our services to you and to make them as personal to you as possible.

The information is used to contact you about your documentary, to make arrangements about filming it, to process your order and payments and to film and edit your documentary.

The information is only used by SSF and its employees in the course of SSF’s business.  It is not shared with any third parties (other than as required by law).

We may also contact you to ask you for your feedback and comments on our services.

The principal Lawful Bases in the GDRP upon which we process your personal data are (i) performance of a contract with the data subject or to take steps to enter into a contract; (ii) consent of the data subject and (iii) SSF’s own legitimate interests in carrying on its business where the data subject is a client.

3. Marketing

We do not provide any of your personal information to third parties for marketing or for any other purpose (other than as required by law).

We should like to keep in touch with you occasionally about our own services, if you are content for us to do so.  If you agree to us keeping in touch, you can always opt out at a later date.

4. How we protect your information

We will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard your personal information. Other than when visiting locations specified by you for filming, your information (including the footage we have filmed) is retained in our secure premises and on secure servers.

Your Documentary will be sent to you by First Class Post.  We can also send you a copy via the Internet, but you should be aware that the use of the Internet is not entirely secure and for this reason we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any personal information which is transferred from you or to you via the Internet.

5. Overseas transfers

The GDPR applies to countries within the European Economic Area (EEA).  We do not use, process or transfer your personal information outside the EEA (unless you request us to do so).

6. Retention of data

We retain your personal data while you are a client of SSF, in order to provide our services to you.  We will retain your personal data for a reasonable period after we have completed our services for you unless you ask us to delete it (which you may do at any time).  We will retain a copy of the completed Documentary we have made (which may contain some of your personal data) for our own internal records and training.

7. Access to your information and updating and correcting your information

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please send an email to info@SilverScreen.family.

We want to ensure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. If any of the information that you have provided to us changes, for example if you change your email address, please let us know the correct details. You may ask us, or we may ask you, to correct information you or we think is inaccurate, and you may also ask us to remove information which is inaccurate.

If you are unhappy with how your personal information has been used, you may be entitled to seek compensation.  More information is available from the ICO’s website at http://ico.org.uk/for_the_public/personal_information.

8. Your consent

By submitting your personal information to us, you consent to the use of that information as set out in this policy.

9. Changes to privacy policy

We keep our privacy policy under review. If we change our privacy policy we will post the changes on our website at www.SilverScreenfamily.com, so that you may be aware of the information we collect and how we use it at all times. Additionally, if we make significant changes to our policy, we will notify you directly.  This privacy policy was last updated on 30 October 2018.
